2026 Board of Director Elections will be held on

Monday, February 9, 2026
Nominations will begin on Monday, January 12, 2026

Per our by-laws, all Board positions are a 1-year volunteer term and must be elected by our members each year at our February annual meeting. We encourage all our members to consider running for any of them. Even if there is an incumbent running for reelection or other members have already been nominated, we believe a strong democratic process with multiple candidates will ultimately strengthen our organization.

Fast Facts:

You must be an active dues-paying member to run for the Board.
You must be an active dues-paying member to vote in the Board elections.
Any member can nominate any other member. The nominee may choose to accept or decline.
Any member can nominate themselves.

Important Timelines:

Nominations will begin in-person at our January 12, 2026 Membership Meeting.
Nominations will be updated on our website after the January meeting.
Nominations can be made in writing between our January & February meetings to president@byd.org or browardyoungdemocrats@gmail.com.
The elections will be held at our February 9, 2026 Membership Meeting.
Nominations can be made until the point of the ballot vote for each position.
In order to vote or run in the elections, your membership dues must be current & paid by January 26, 11:59pm (14 days prior to the election).

We are exploring a virtual attendance/ballot option to accommodate members that cannot attend in person, however please make every effort to attend in person if possible and engage in the process.
